When Isabel Hartmann hikes to the idyllic Sandaig beach on Scotland’s west coast, the last thing she expects to discover is the dead body of a German tourist. Suddenly, the translator finds herself in the middle of a murder investigation.
DI Robert Campbell faces a mystery: a tourist shot dead in a remote location and no motive for murder.

Judensand cemetery in the German city of Mainz – a place steeped in history. Its origins go back to the 11th century, making it an important witness not just to the Jewish community of Mainz. It is part of the serial UNESCO World Heritage that connects the cities of Mainz, Worms and Speyer since summer 2021.
The site is one of the oldest Jewish cemeteries in Europe. Established in the Middle Ages, it served as the final resting place for members of the Jewish community. Today, there are around 1,700 historical gravestones in the cemetery.

Would love to visit the Island and clean up some of the ancient stones. Some of them are similar to stones on a cemetery where I live in Wishaw. The cemetery here goes back some 1600 years and was on the site of the first church in the area. The people were converted to Christianity by St. Nethan who gave his name to the area. Cambusnethan. Have cleaned the stones in this cemetery.
